SPORTS & ACTIVITY FAQ's

It's not always easy to understand insurance policy wording. Our handy FAQ's keep things breezy!
  • What activities are covered?
  • We love those who put a bit of Za Za Zoom into their holiday. Please refer to the information provided above; you may not be covered for certain sports and activities automatically if you don't opt for the 'sports & activities’ add-on.

  • Are my medical fees covered if I participate in an adventure sport?
  • Yes. If you were to have an unforeseen accident on holiday while participating in a listed activity above, assuming you were acting responsibly and adhering to the conditions of our cover, your medical expenses would be covered.

  • Which activities are excluded?
  • We don’t cover for cliff jumping, boating in international waters, spear fishing or any kind of professional or competition sports. For a full list of excluded activities please refer to our policy wording.

  • Are there any circumstances when I wouldn't be covered?
  • If at any time during your holiday you are intentionally putting yourself at risk and not acting in a responsible mannor, you could find your cover invalidated. For example, if you were riding a scooter intoxicated and had an accident, we would be unable to cover you.

  • Does Zoom cover professional sports?
  • No, we consider professional and competitive sports too risky. If you are planning to compete in a sporting event (either as a professional sportsperson, or not as a paid sportsperson) you will need to seek cover from a specialist sports insurer.

  • Are my golf clubs covered?
  • Yes, by paying an addional premium at payment time. If you choose to add-on our Golf Pack then you're covered up to $2,000 for golf equipment, $1,500 for equipment hire, $500 for golf green fees and $250 hole in one.

  • Is my bicycle covered?
  • Yes, by paying an additional premium. You can choose to insure up to 5 bikes with Zoom, just make sure you add-on our bicycle pack when making payment.

  • I have high value sporting items; how much can I insure them for?
  • If you have an expensive item that you just can’t leave behind you can insure it separately for up to $5,000 other than surfbooards or ski equipment. Please note that high value item cover is only available under our Comprehensive plan.
